M1 Helmet & Liner Restoration Services
Our restoration service includes a full assessment of your helmet or liner and a plan for getting the best results. We take this work on a “case by case” basis.
Quick guide ~ A typical helmet restoration runs $150.00. Which includes shipping if you live stateside or have a stateside address. A typical infantry helmet liner restoration, where we replace the head cradle runs $60.00. Need the exterior painted? Add $60.00. Headband, neckband and leather chin strap are extra. For an airborne liner conversion we charge for the required additional components — baby durable snap, Y straps and chin cup.
Details ~ Before shipping your project to us, it is important you email us to discuss the plan. It is also a good idea to send us a few (no more than 4 please) pictures of the project. We can dial in a plan easily with some pictures. After the project is planned and the helmet or liner has arrived, you can expect completion within the month your project arrived. Most restorations will be returned in 10-12 business days. Please plan accordingly.
While most helmets can be restored, some cannot. Helmets with large cracks in the rim or bad dents to the body are not good candidates for restoration. We can, however, work with these issues and make them less obvious. Keep in mind that excellent results are achieved when we have good material to work with.
Like the steel helmet,– most liners can be restored, some cannot. Liners with large cracks in the rim or punctures to the body are not good candidates for restoration. We can, however, work with internal webbing that is damaged or missing.
Helmets deemed restorable will be sandblasted and repainted/textured. We will also install new web chinstraps of your choosing: infantry or airborne — early, mid or late war. Also available if desired– a fixed or d bale conversion.
Restorable liners can be sandblasted and repainted. We will also install new web components of your choosing: early rayon (when available) or hbt web kits — early, mid or late war — airborne or infantry.
We look forward to your project! Find us by email and let's get your M1 back into shape!
