Big Red here with a follow up question from "Ted Striker"...
So, TAKE FIVE!
Ted asks,
"Big Red, if the bands were sewn together they wouldn't have been adjustable right? So, how many different sizes were there?"
Excellent follow up Ted,
According to Ordnance Department Drawing No. C75780, thirteen different sizes of this style head band were manufactured.
Head bands were sorted by size and distributed in bundles held together by cotton string tied at the ends.
Their size was to be indicated on the male snap side by a large ink stamp on the fabric however, the vast majority were stamped with small ink stamps on the roll over end of the sewn on leather sweat pad.
Big Red Says!
FIVE'S OVER - MOVE OUT!
