Original Vietnam War M1 helmet liners. Type I (infantry). Restorable condition.
About 2 years ago I was approached to buy a couple thousand helmet liners out of Colorado. I knew a majority of them were postwar with some WWII and Korean era liners in the mix. Out of the lot I secured 300 WWII/Korean style, leaving PLENTY of Nam liners as a balance to play with. I had always been flirting with having a Vietnam War helmet product line. Here we are two years later and we brought these out of storage. I've been noticing a measurable interest in headgear from the Vietnam War and I think its time to get these liners into the mix.
*Replacement neckband buckles will be a new item soon
What I think:
Are they too far gone? Can they be restored?Yes. If you really want to, you can drop them in a helmet and be done with it. But, if you like to get your hands into a project and challenge yourself these are perfect for that. As you can see above, we've been actively growing our postwar helmet parts inventory. Remember, these need loveand a thorough going over, so if you're not inclined, pass these over. For those of you who look for this sort of thing, I'm curious to see what you do with them and what you can find! If you're searching for parts and pieces and I'm doing the same, someone is bound to turn up a box or two of hidden away NOS parts. Then, we can get into some serious restorative action!
Choose a box of 2, 3, or 5 when purchasing. If you want more than a box of 5 inquire by email, we can arrange larger quantities if desired.
