Original 1974 Mitchell Pattern M1 Helmet Cover
A solid, authentic example of a late Vietnam War-era M1 helmet cover, perfect for collectors or reenactors. This Contract F-U060, dated 1974, is in very good used condition, with a light crease from being nested between a helmet and liner. The colors are lightly faded due to laundering, but the cover remains structurally sound.
Notably, this cover features a small, square-shaped piece of red fabric sewn to the front. The exact purpose is unclear, but it may have been a field modification or unit marking.
An excellent piece for display or period-correct impressions.
