WWII Fixbail M1 Helmet and Liner – Restored
These helmets are built with genuine WWII M1 front-seam, fixed-bale shells. About 25 years ago, they were restored and then placed into long-term storage. Each one remains in good, fully serviceable condition, showing only light stacking marks, scuffs, and small dents from decades of handling. The chinstraps from that earlier restoration have been replaced with our own.
The liners are original WWII production as well. They were repainted only and still retain their original webbing and hardware. The webbing and the -A- washer hardware will show typical age and wear, and the repaint can have chipping or flaking from long-term temperature fluctuations, but everything is serviceable and performs as intended. Each liner was fitted with an original French M51 leather chinstrap during the restoration period, and that strap is included. Because they were stored without a headband or neckband, we finished the liners with our own.
A used original drawstring helmet net is also included.

These helmets look great in their current rebuilt form. While not full J. Murray restorations, they present well and function exactly as intended. Offering them as-is allows for a more approachable price point—ideal for anyone wanting an early-style fixbail infantry setup without moving into our premium range.
