This original adjustable neckband is designed for the pre-1964 Vietnam War-era M1 helmet liner. Dated 1962, it provides a secure and comfortable fit when installed in the liner’s suspension system.
How to Identify a Pre-1964 Liner:
To determine if you have a pre-1964 M1 helmet liner, check for the following:
-
Garter Studs – These small metal studs on the liner’s interior were used to attach leather chinstraps. If your liner has them, this is the correct neckband for your setup.
-
Webbing System – The suspension will resemble the WWII-style setup, featuring a shoelace adjustment cord in the center. However, unlike WWII liners, the webbing will be made from dark green cotton instead of the earlier khaki color.
Features:
-
Authentic 1962-Dated Issue – Original U.S. military production, not a reproduction.
-
For Pre-1964 Helmet Liners – Correct design for early Vietnam War-era M1 helmet liners.
-
Adjustable Design – Allows for a customized fit within the liner’s webbing system.
-
Durable Materials – Made from military-spec cotton webbing and hardware.
-
