This helmet has the markings on the 509th Parachute Infantry Battalion. The 509th unit marking is a "little man in the door" commonly referred to as the Gingerbread Man. The artwork also features Capt. bars and an the officer's hash mark on the back of the helmet body.
The helmet is an original wartime front seam helmet that has been modified with the semi circular chinstrap loops (D Bail). The liner is also wartime, made by Seamans Paper Company. It has been modified to appear as a Westinghouse type jump liner.
The helmet and the liner have been heavily aged to appear as an old combat used battle field relic. It is a one of a kind, we don't have another one like it.
