Helmet was pressed by McCord Radiator. A partial stamp can be read as "-801". I believe it would read M-801A. The chinstraps are a gem of a find. A scarce postwar chinstrap variant where the buckle and endkeeper are made of blackened brass. This variation is referenced on pg76 in the book POST WWII M1 HELMETS - AN ILLUSTRATED STUDY, an excellent book authored by Mark Reynosa. It is interesting this helmet is of 50's manufacture whereas these chinstraps, according to the book, are from the mid 1960's. This helmet is good used condition. Rank insignia on the front was applied by hand and has faded. It is original to the helmet as found.
