Original Korean War USMC helmet cover. Manufactured by the Blue Anchor Overall Co. in 1953. Salty condition. The cover has good color throughout, but is heavily soiled with a tattered appearance. The left and right side have a hole where the helmet chinstrap passed through. This is a common sight. There is also a hole up near the button holes one the rear of the left side. There are other less significant wear and tear spots throughout. The postwar EGA stamp, done in black ink, is present on the green and brown side. It is the variation of the stamp with the anchor rope.
These are becoming exceedingly hard to find. This one is shows heavy field use but remains solid. It is salty and would be perfect for completing a helmet with a similar look.
